I’m in the process of adopting a dog from this rescue. Finding a rescue dog is a daunting task but the folks from Grateful Doggies have been extremely helpful and responsive it’s been a very positive experience. I can’t wait to get my new little Puggle home!

Grateful Doggies transporters are very accommodating. They let me walk and hang out with my fosters for awhile while they are walking, taking pictures and feeding/watering the dogs on their pit stop.
Grateful Doggies really have a love for the dogs. They save extra dogs from shelters in the South to fill up empty space on the van and get them adopted themselves from their retreat.
Grateful Doggies is very organized and competent. They send an email to notify fosters of pickup schedule, and then a text message a day or two later making sure we know the schedule.

Our foster dog came up on the transport from Georgia in a snowstorm. I was kept informed the whole time while waiting for him to be dropped off to me. He was safely delivered, and we went on to fall in love with him and adopt him. We love all the Grateful Doggies volunteers, they are the best!

This organization is beyond compare. Nothing but complete dedication the the rescue and adoption of animals who are living (and dying) in deplorable conditions. Animals who are destined for a life of misery. Every donation goes to the operation. There are no high salaried administrators. Just down and dirty hard working people who genuinely care. We adopted our Baxter from Grateful Doggies last June. Such wonderful people doing such amazing work. After the first dog we were interested in failed his cat test, they matched us up with the perfect pooch. We couldn’t be happier.

We at East Coast Canine Rescue exclusively use Grateful Doggies Transport to get our Southern dogs up North. This company is honest, prices are great, they are always on time, their chosen meeting spots are safe for the transfer of dogs, their buses are clean; but above everything else, the animals are treated in a loving manner and that speaks volumes to who they are. Steve and his crew do not discriminate based on breed or size, every animal is treated with the utmost respect. We highly recommend using GD to any person or rescue bringing any number of dogs/cats from the South.

I adopted my dog recently from Grateful Doggies. They are by the far the best rescue I have ever worked with. The are very responsive, caring, helpful and go over and beyond for their rescues, fosters and adopters. They picked up my dog from the south and nurtured him back to good health until ready to be given to a family. He was a feral dog. we took him in and Grateful Doggies was always in communication and helping me go through the decompression stage with my new dog to make him comfortable in a new family environment. Now my dog is amazing and most loving playful pet ever!!! Thanks to Grateful Doggies!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Grateful Doggies. As novice pet owners, it took us a long time to find a dog that was right for us and to be ready to take the plunge. The owner and volunteers were always ready to answer our many questions and provide insight as experts in all things dogs. We finally adopted our sweet little puppy from an event GD had a couple of weeks ago and are so excited! This past August we adopted our little Tinkerbell from Grateful Doggie Rescue. Steve Quinlan was so nice with our adoption process. He even suggested a sleep over to make sure we were a fit! I believe that Tinkerbell ( lab/dachshund mix) and I knew we were meant to be the minute we set eyes on each other. Grateful Doggie made adopting Tinkerbell so easy. I am so happy that Grateful Doggie helps as many dogs as they do! They are the kindest rescue group I have ever met. Thank you for our little Tinkerbell who is the most loving puppy and makes our home complete!

No one loves pups as much as the volunteers at GDRR do. They put their lives 2nd to all those animals lives that they save by getting them off the streets. Then they rehabilitate them and get them ready to go to their forever homes. They take the time to ensure that the pup & family are a right fit for each other. Nothing but love all around!

I drove all the way from Connecticut to the puppy even in New Jersey and I had the best help from Grateful Doggies Rescue on my adoption. They kept in touch every step of the way during the time he was getting fixed. Then once I had him they kept in touch asking for photos and updates of how well he was doing. His name was JoJo but now it’s Milo. I couldn’t be more blessed than I am to have him in my life.

In October, we saw a picture of 4 beagle puppies on the greatful doggies facebook page. I immediately fell in love with them all. My husband and I went to see them and that’s when we found Carson, our adorable now seven month old puppy. Steve and Erin were extremely caring and supportive. The day we picked Carson up, steve had an emergency and was looking for another dog so he later came to our home to give us the necessary paperwork and some additional shots for Carson. They made adopting Carson an easy transition and I can’t forget Julia who let me come everyday to spend time with Carson before we were able to pick him up. The entire team is dedicated to saving the lives of dogs and are very passionate about what they do. I am a greatful doggy owner to a greatful doggy!

They offer a wonderful service to pet rescues and pet adopters. They are always pleasant and just seeing their vans pull into a rest area brings on a wave of happiness to the many people waiting to get their dog off of transport. My fiancé and I adopted our puppy from grateful doggie from one of there events they hold in nj. They where the most caring and wonderful group of people I have ever met. You could tell by the way the dogs where acting there we loved from day one. We had went back to a event and took our newly adopt puppy and she remember everyone! Which mean she was treated with the upmost amount of a love a dog should get. I’m am so grateful I found grateful doggie recuse and would recommend them to anyone. I picked my first foster dog up from a Grateful Doggies transport in 2014. The volunteers were exhausted (it was probably 13 hours or so into their trip down and up the east coast), but they were so genuine and happy and you could tell they loved those dogs so much, even though they had only known them for a few hours. One member handed me my foster dog, a heeler puppy who was scheduled to be euthanized just days before, and told me how special she was. She ended up being a foster failure and she’s been happily spoiled for the last 3 years. I haven’t seen the Facebook posts stop since that day so I can only imagine how many other dogs have this exact same story because of the genorisgy and dedication of this amazing rescue team.
