Have been going to Markellos Bakery since it was on Rockwell wow we go way back since I was a kid and now I take my kids & husband there.. Living in Chicago its hard to get Yummy Guatemalan Pastries but Markellos has achieved their goal. My Grandfather was a Baker and we grew up loving Bread so we always know it reminds us of our country but specially of my Grandfather. My family is from Guatemala and we travel 45 mins from 64th & Kedzie to North side just for all Great Bread, Tamales, Chiles Rellenos.. I had Empanadas ordered and Irene gave us the Best Customer service. Thank you for your service for this long and many more Years to come!

We love this place, though we don’t go as often as we should! Everything is fresh, tasty and affordable. The staff are friendly and hardworking!! Best of all, this place is open 24 hours so if you ever need baked goods for any occasion, any time… BOOM, go here. You will not be disappointed!
