Purple Strands is owned and operated by THE greatest hair stylist and artist, Penny Swafford. She has been my EXCLUSIVE stylist since 2005, regardless of the now 2 hour round trip drive I have to make to see her now! No one else cuts my hair, NO ONE. No matter the crazy idea I have for my hair, she can and has done it, from the “Sharon Osborne,” to the “Marilyn,” to the many “I have no freaking idea what I want, just do what you want,” all the way back to the first haircut she ever gave me, the “OMG the cheap walk-in place gave me a freaking MULLET! HELP!”… Penny has ALWAYS made me feel like a more beautiful me. If you need a pick me up, I know nothing better than grabbing some chocolate for the drive and going to see her! From her infectious joy to her talent and skill with hair, you will walk out a whole new person, feeling as if you can conquer the world. I have even taken my teenage son to Penny and walked away feeling better about life! She is just an absolute ray of pure positivity. You will NOT be disappointed if you visit Purple Strands and Penny!

Penny is an amazing hairstylist. She cuts my hair which is difficult and my daughters’ hair – also difficult and does it all with style. She has also done some amazing coloring.

Purple strands was the first place my mom found when I finally convinced her to let me change my look. Since appointment #1 purple strands has made me feel special and taken care of-always complimentary and happy to help me change up my style, no matter by how much. It’s been nearly two years since I chopped off all my hair and dyed it blue and I genuinely look forward to going in and changing it up to come out feeling better than ever.
