The staff at AAS does more with less on a daily basis and pour their heart and soul into caring for animals in their care. The shelter building itself looks as if its in constant need of repair due to it being such an old structure and they have to work within a the restraints of a small budget. They’re constantly search for donations and sponsors to help off set the cost of taking care of the animals. They are always striving to find ways of getting animals homes. They contact non profit rescue organizations to literally clear out the shelter before having to make hard decisions to reduce the population of the shelter. They also coordinated with a local dog obedience trainer to receive free behavioral assessments in order to determine if a stray dog is able to have the potential to live with a new family aside from whether or not it is trainable. AAS deserves to win the award for pet services in my opinion they are truly awesome.
