The staff at the Meriden Humane Society are very caring and will go to the ends of the earth to make sure that each and every animal finds an amazing “forever home”. They take amazing care of the animals in their care, as well as ensure their fosters have everything they need to provide the best possible care. I can’t thank MHS enough for allowing me to be a foster for their cats/kittens. Fostering gives me a purpose & I can’t think of a better organization to foster for! Over the years, I have foster “failed” 3 times and I just adore my fur babies. Kitten season is in full effect & I look forward to working with them to get fur babies amazing homes! Beyond this, MHS also has several programs that help the community such as: food pantry for those that can’t afford food for their pets & the feral spay/neuter/release program. I love MHS & highly recommend!!

I had a wonderful experience 9 years ago when I adopted a little kitten. I went there looking for an older cat to join our family. We had another cat that was approximately 1-1/2 years old. After visiting with numerous cats, I asked which one would they suggest..they questioned me about our other cat and suggested a kitten would be the best choice. Although I really wanted to save an older cat, I took their advice and brought home a little girl kitty….what can I say…..she is such a joyful and loving part of our family. She and our male cat love each other to this day! Thank you Meridan Humane Soceity for taking time to advise me.

This is a group of very kind and compassionate people. They are organized and make sure that every animal that enters their doors are very well taken care of before they leave. The place is very clean and appreciative when they get a donation.
