Bob worked the first eight years of his career as a manager/stylist for Glemby International and built up a clientele in the Valley Forge, Pennsylvania area that included Belinda Carlisle of the Go Go’s and Philadelphia Eagle’s former head coach Dick Vermiel. While with Glemby, Bob judged several beauty competitions including the Miss Delaware Beauty Pageants. Bob was promoted to Divisional Vice President at Glemby in 1988 and directed department store salons in Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Wanamakers, and Abraham and Straus. In 1991, Bob left the Glemby Company and opened Hair Perfect and Splinters, two mall based salons in Philadelphia. Bob sold the successful mall salons to Beauty Concepts Inc., a regional chain operation in 1998. After two years away from the beauty business, Bob opened Xquisite Hair Design in March of 2000. In February of 2001 Xquisite Hair Design was voted Best New Salon of 2000 by Solid Gold International Magazine. Xquisite Hair Design was named “Philadelphia’s Best Salon for 2006” by Citysearch.com. In July 2007 Xquistite was voted “The Best of Philly” by the listeners of Power 99 Radio. In 2012 Xquisite was Voted The Top Weave Salon In Philadelphia by subscribers of Citysearch.com
Bob attributes Xquisite’s success to the great training that he received from Robert Cromeans of Robert Cromean’s Salon and Andrew Finklestein the former President of Glemby International and the current President of Beauty Matters. Bob also works for Round Table Group as an Expert Witness in salon industry legal cases.
