It was over 20 years ago that Ilex got its start, thanks to the unrivaled creative talent of Joe Smith. Joe brought with him unmistakable vision and taste, an intuition for future trends in the floral industry, and over 50 years of experience. Through Ilex, he brought Nashville custom-made flower arrangements using the highest quality flowers shipped in from all over the world.
Flowers are known for their resilient nature, and we like to think that our own setbacks—from the destruction of our Belle Meade location in the flood of 2010 to the great losses of our floral designer Ken Scott and, of course, our beloved Joe Smith—have strengthened our roots.
In August 2012, Dwayne Johnson purchased Ilex and relocated to the Gulch area. Since then we’ve been blooming with business, thanks to the continued support of our amazing customers. We remain committed to offering the wonderful people of Nashville a custom, premium product, innovative design standards, and outstanding customer service.
