Education and professional experience
Born and raised in Crown Point, Dr. Garlapati traveled to New York, where he attended the University of Rochester. After graduating, he moved on to Western University of Health Sciences, in Pomona, California where completed medical school. After that, he went on to Masonic Medical Center in Illinois, where he completed an internal medicine internship.
The final stop in Dr. Garlapati’s educational journey was Miami Florida, the heart of the cosmetic dermatology community. He learned from, and worked with, some of the best known-cosmetic dermatologists in the country. During that time, he studied advanced aesthetic techniques, Mohs micrographic surgery, and the latest dermatological technology.
Upon completing his extensive education. Dr. Garlapati brought a wealth of knowledge and skill back to his home town of Crown Point. In 2015, he joined Dermatology Center of Northwest Indiana PC, where he has developed an excellent rapport with patients. Dr. Garlapati serves on the staff of Methodist Southlake Hospital as well as St. Anthony Medical Center.
