They have boundless energy and have saved countless lives through hosting events, organizing transports, and refusing to allow an animal to languish in the shelter. We cannot begin to know how many families were created thanks to their hard work, generosity, and time.

They make a huge impact on the quality of life for the dogs in our town. Some of the rehab cases that they have taken on leave one without words. They have also helped countless cats at the local shelter by sponsoring adoption fees, and even help me help a shelter cat when that cat needed medical attention. They work with the shelter without any drama, putting the animals first and helping to keep it no kill

I adopted both my dogs from this shelter. Everyone there are true animal lovers and have hearts of gold. I am amazed how they go above and beyond to help all of the animals. The people that run the shelter and volunteers are the BEST!!!!!

FORAS is a wonderful organization that has helped save numerous shelter animals. They raise money to treat the animals for heart worms, needed surgeries, etc. And they are all volunteers who do what they do because they love animals.

FORAS has helped so many shelter animals at Oak Ridge Animal Shelter by providing much needed veterinary care for sick and injured animals. They pay for services like heartworm treatment, various surgeries including those for cancer, broken bones and deep wounds and other injuries due to the animals being used as bait in dog fighting. Our local shelter has gone from a 70% euthanasia rate to a no kill status since FORAS got involved.

My family and I are the proud parents of two dogs that were fostered and cared for by FORAS. They saved both dogs from horrible situations, and they didn’t give up on them even when it looked very dire. They are kind, compassionate, and passionate about saving all animals. They rock!!!

Oak Ridge Animal Shelter was a kill shelter until FORAS came in and began vetting the sick or hurt ones, and fostering until they were ready for adoption. Proud to say the shelter is now a no-kill shelter!
