This staff works hard not just to meet the physical needs of these fur babies, but their emotional and psychological needs as well. Golden Belt Humane Society has truly been doing a great job finding more pets homes and working to move dogs and cats to other places to find homes for them. It gives the pets a better chance for a new home. I am proud to have them in Great Bend.

I used to absolutely HATE the golden belt humane society about 5 years ago. I am a hard headed person and usually am not one to give second chances. They proved me wrong! They have changed so much from a high kill to next to no kill. They truly love their animals and do a fantastic job seeing through people and making sure their animals go to good homes. I am so proud of them and how far they have come!

I can’t say enough about what Golden Belt Humane Society does for animals and people in Barton County and surrounding areas! They are kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and caring. Heather and staff always go the extra mile to care for animals, sometimes even transferring them in from high kill shelters to give them a chance! They provide exceptional healthcare for animals in their care as well as socialization, enrichment activities and love. We have personally adopted from the shelter and can testify first hand to what a clean, we’ll run shelter GBHS is. We are so impressed and forever grateful for the work they do to keep animals in our community safe and place them in good loving homes!
