Jacksonville Friends of the Animals

I adopted a pit through ArkanPaws/Jacksonville animal shelter. When I arrived to look at the dog, Hedy made sure to inform me that she was going to take a lot of work and needed time for recovery. I had to wait a month before we could even adopt her. I visited once a week until we could bring her home. Every time I went up there, I seen the animal control officers interacting with every animal like they were their own pets. I loved knowing that my Harmony was loved on when we weren’t up there. The officers were constantly coming through the kennels, interacting with the other dogs. They’d even come up to us and play with Harmony

A very dedicated group of city employees, animal services officers and a great group of volunteers have made the City of Jacksonville Arkansas Animal Shelter one to match. They go above and beyond and have always advocate for responsible pet ownership and a change in city policy allowing the rescue of banned breeds. Thank you for all you do to help the animals!!!

Great place great people who are very active in networking to find all of the animals good homes!

They genuinely care about the animals. They go out of their way to adopt out as many as possible.

This is the best shelter I have ever seen. They do everything they can to keep from killing the animals. The staff are very friendly and very good to the animals.
