The League for Animal Welfare is a worthy group to receive this award. They are the only true ”no-kill” facility in Calhoun County, Alabama, and surrounding areas. That makes them a true ”shelter” for the animals they help. They helped us, my husband and myself, save 24 dogs about 10 years ago when we had no local resources available. They didn’t have to help us because we were out of their coverage area, but they made an exception. They provided food, gave shots, de-wormed, set up spay/neuter surgeries which they paid for, and helped us find homes for them. We couldn’t have done it without their help. Thank you League for Animal Welfare for your help and continued dedication to saving as many as you can. Adopt! Don’t shop!

I adopted a cat and a bunny from them. They are always nice and down to earth. My teen daughter volunteered there for awhile, too. They are very active in saving and improving pets lives.

The League does such wonderful things for so many animals! There are animals there that have been there for years and normal shelters may have given up on them, but the League never stops trying to find them their forever home! Thankful for the League and how much they help the fur babies!

Always willing to help. Works so hard to make sure our furry friends have a safe place to go, full of love warmth, friends, food and shelter. The people there are so sweet and down to earth, they deserve all the help and praise in the world. Big fan!!!!
