As we all know, the states and cities were hit hard with the \”recession\”. Our Needles Animal Shelter was hit hard with funding cuts, but it didn\’t stop our Animal Shelter Manager, Deanna Johnson, from letting that stop or reduce the care to the animals that are in her care. She has organized fundraisers, recruited and has wonderful volunteer groups as well as a good base of donations coming from locals and businesses. Thanks to her efforts our shelter maintains the quality of care in spite of the cuts to the budget. You will also see her staff calling to see if anyone recognizes a lost and now in shelter custody pet and goes the extra mile to find permanent homes for those that go unclaimed. The Needles Animal Shelter and Deanna Johnson are the best!
