We wanted a second dog but weren’t sure which type of dog would integrate best into our home. The volunteers worked with us to find the perfect fit and then even came to the house to assist with training and safety procedures after we adopted. We were so impressed with their willingness to help us that a year later I became a volunteer and have been there since 2013! I have made strong and lasting friendships with many of the volunteers and have had the privilege of watching hundreds of dogs and cats find their forever homes.

I adopted two lovely Calico kitties a couple years back and have been involved in the shelter ever since! An extraordinary team of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to place cats and dogs in loving, forever homes is definitely the place to go south of Boston if you are looking to adopt!

Both my daughters are dog walkers there and think a lot of the shelter. I know quite a few of the other workers there and they are wonderful people who love animals and give lots of their time (and money) working at the shelter.

The Quincy Animal is not fancy but it is a high quality shelter. The volunteers are caring, loving, dedicated and just GREAT people. It is a “no kill shelter” so everything possible is done to save every cat & dog who enters our threshold. I am proud to say I have been volunteer there for 9 years. I have several shifts a week at the shelter and have never enjoyed going to a place as much as I love going there. The shelter has greatly helped to develop my character and shown me abilities I never knew I had. I trained to be one of the medical people and am now helping sick or injured cats and dogs get better so that they can find “forever homes”. When our four legged fur covered friends need us we are there to do the very best we can. What more can I say than I love, love, love the Quincy Animal Shelter and all its volunteers and good people who donate to help us continue to do our work to save animals.

QAS is a great organization. For being a small facility, they help animals in every way they can. Collaborating with Quincy Animal Control to help lost animals find their way back to their owners, helping people with medical care using the Mickey fund, enhancing animal lives while at the shelter and finding new homes for stray and surrendered animals.

In QAS, it’s not about getting the animals out, but finding them the best home. And they don’t give up on any animals as long as they will have a quality life.

The animals that come into the shelter are so well-cared for by all the loving volunteers, who show up for them every day no matter what! Each animal is given plenty of love, attention and training to help them through their transition until they find their forever homes.

All the animals in the shelter receive the best care from both the vet and volunteers. Stray animals that are frightened in the beginning, all become super lovable and sweet with the love and care of volunteers.

QAS has nearly 200 volunteers committed to the care and re-homeing of thousands of cats and dogs over the last 17.5 years.
Genuinely caring people!
