Director, staff, volunteers, and Board go above and beyond in regard to making the best choices for the animals.

As a volunteer for SWCHS, I have actually witnessed board members, staff, and volunteers’ dedication and loving care of our furry friends. It is a well run, clean facility and the animals are given such good care and attention. They go above and beyond, selflessly giving so much of their time and even money. Their fund raising events are tasteful, fun events that are enjoyed by the donors. Yet our areas circumstances have them budgeting wisely. I am so very grateful for them and our donors.

I absolutely love this place. The staff is so professional and friendly they truly care about the animals. SWCHS does excellent work finding great homes for cats and dogs and rescuing animals. We are very lucky to have them in our community thank you for all you do!!!

The South Wood County Humane Society is a excellent facility where all animals are treated with the utmost kindness. The shelter works very hard to make the animals the best pets they can with programs like the Platinum Paws where dogs receive basic obedience training. The facility is always clean and well taken care of. The staff is beyond amazing in their care for the animals and in sharing their knowledge and kindness with the public. The many fundraising events SWCHS has every year keeps the shelter running while providing opportunities for the community to come together and socialize. They also offer vaccination and micro-chip clinics to the public to help keep pets safe. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful facility in our community.

Very efficient humane society!! Truly are devoted to the care of all the animals!! They do amazing work!!

South Wood County Humane Society gives so much to our community. They take great care of all of their animals, and the facility is always clean. They have volunteer and educational opportunities available to serve humans as well as the animals. They always make you feel welcome and valued when you enter the building as someone looking for a new pet, as a volunteer, or if you need assistance or advice. Everyone on staff is so knowledgeable and experienced, and they love each and every one of the animals as their own. We are so grateful for all that they do for us.

Our family has adopted 4 cats from the South Wood County Humane Society since 1987;we currently have 2 who are spoiled family members. SWCHS treats their charges like family and strive to place them in Forever Homes. Staff and volunteers give their time, talents, and hearts to these animals, always looking for ways to improve the lives of these precious creatures until they find permanent homes. They sponsor myriad events to involve the community and raise awareness of and funds for daily and special needs. And in the meantime, the shelter is clean and organized, and the staff and volunteers are always welcoming and helpful. We are very blessed to have such a great facility in our area!

My family adopted a pet from South Wood County Humane Society and they are just awesome! We always stop in to visit and drop off donations.
