To whom it may concern My name is Gina Vitale I reside @ 2 Grapevine Rd, Danvers MA 01923. I am writing to provide a reference for Southern Journey Rescue & Transport who in correlation works with Northeast Animal Shelter In Salem , MA. Where do I begin? I can\’t honestly say enough great things about the loving and caring angels that make up this organization. I am forever grateful for the wonderful work they do. I adopted my black lab Moses from NEAS when he was 5. His story was so horrific…and saddened my soul to the core & that I KNEW I had to adopt him. You see Moses was rescued from a high kill shelter by Southern Journey. He had a shattered right hip from abuse ( they believe he was beaten with a baseball bat) Southern Journey had his hip removed ( FHO) so that he would no longer be in pain…they rehabbed him…regained his trust in people & housed him for four long years & most of all loved him. He was then brought to NEAS in Salem where I read his sad story of abuse & instantly knew how special he was. Moses is my world. I love him more than words can convey , he is my best friend & again I am FOREVER grateful to Southern Journey for rescuing him & giving him a second chance at life. In closing I am hoping that this reference assists in providing Southern Journey in receiving your award. I can\’t think of any organization more deserving for the selfless work these people do day in & day out.

These are the most dedicated and hard working guys I have ever seen. Chris and Michael go beyond expectations when it comes to rescuing and getting these beautiful animals into loving homes. From running out at all hours of the night, to meticulously cleaning their environment, taking to the vet, feeding, exercising and then to insure that they travel for miles to get to where they need to go, I just am at awe of their devotion and passion for the work that they do. They definitely need to be the rewarded the ” Top Dog ” reward!

Southern Journey is amazing and care so much for the animals they save. So, many animals have been saved because of their dedication.
