Polk County has come an amazing way since the building was purchased several years ago. Dedicated volunteers have made this shelter what it is today. Kind, compassionate, caring people who love animals and always put them first! How fortunate we are to have this this no,kill shelter in our county. Thank you to all!

No kill shelter, animals actually trained while in kennels, so they become more adoptable, working with community on a spay program for elderly and low income pet owners

I started 4 or 5 years ago with them when they purchased the building they’re in now. The Ferren’s saddled themselves with a huge financial burden to get the SPCA up and running. There were a lot of set backs but they survived. They are dedicated people and true animal lovers. They need to be recognized.

Their volunteers are dedicated and caring toward all their furbabies. It is very important to them to keep each and every dog and cat well and safe which includes finding great forever families. They are a no kill facility and survive on donations from a great community. You can tell the great care and love they put into their facility and toward their animals because all the animals which have been residents for several years are healthy and happy.
