I love the Hive for so many reasons! There are few salons I’ve tried that will really communicate with you to make sure you get the cut and styling you want with the advice you need for maintenance, especially if you want something a little more modern/edgy than like, standard Southern Belle type haircuts.
All the hairdressers I’ve had do my hair have been great, answering all my questions and being totally honest too about what various products will do to your hair and their recommendations and warnings for various products and treatments and such.
Also I have never met a salon more lgbt friendly in KY – I’ve gotten many a “queercut” here that other hairdressers would neither want to do to my hair or do well, but at the Hive they enthusiastically want to and do it well!
Also the hive seems a lot more involved with the local community and supporting local artists and small businesses and I’ve never seen that elsewhere.
My only semi-complaint is one time I had an appointment that ended up being delayed; however, I did get a free eyebrow waxing out of it, so it was cool.

This salon has great service. Always get you in quickly and the stylists are very gifted with their cutting and coloring skills. My family has never had a bad or even okay haircut, they were always great!

We love the Hive, the whole family gets our haircut there. Everyone is super friendly and Miana is awesome! She is the first person my son let cut his hair without crying. They are all excellent at what they do!

The wonderful, diverse, extremely talented ladies that own and operate The Hive are what makes this place truly special. My heart (and hair) will forever belong to Miana but I’d be hard pressed to pick the nicest, most brilliant artist of the bunch.

I love the atmosphere. It is very clean and comfortable. I enjoy that I never know what fun happenings will go on while I am there. Ukulele jam sessions, furry visitors and enlightening conversation are just some of what I’ve encountered. Plus, I just LOVE Miana.

Such a great salon to go to! Not only is the salon itself awesome, but the people who work there really make it a great place to go! I always leave there feeling great and having the best cut!

You can’t walk out of that place with a bad haircut, it doesn’t matter which lady helps you. Bomb cuts, bomb color, bomb vibe. Highly recommended.
