The Tonkawa Animal Shelter has made a complete turn around since ACO Suzanne took over. She took a failing, run down shelter and made it into a top notch facility. She cares about the animals she gets, more than anyone I have ever seen. She takes pride in her job and she is amazing at what she does.

This shelter has been completely turned around by the woman who currently works as ACO. The animals are taken care of no matter the hour of day or night and only adopted to really great homes.

Tonkawa Animal Shelter and Control Officer Suzanne are amazing!! Always making sure animals are safe, secure, returned to lost homes or adopted out! Defintely over and above the call of duty and pure love for the animals!!

The lady that runs the shelter does everything she can to help both the animals and their owners. She goes above and beyond her job and duties to make sure every animal has a home they deserve, and every home has the animal they need.

Our shelter & our animal control officer is the very best around for caring for and finding homes for the animals picked up. It is a no kill shelter & all animals are well cared for and great homes found. We, ourselves are the “parents” of a rescue from there. Love him so much.

I don\’t live in Tonkawa but follow the FB page of the animal shelter. I\’m also related to the animal control officer, Suzanne Burns. So I could be a little biased, but she seems to do a fantastic job, in my opinion. Keep up the good work!!

Our current ACO is the BEST this town has seen in my 20+ yrs living here. Suzanne has really pulled the town together where our animals are concerned. Lost animals are found and returned to their owners on a daily basis. The community supports the shelter by helping to locate owners of these animals, and by generous donations of food and needed items. It’s a group effort and Suzanne is an EXCELLENT Leader! <3

This place is great. She has done so much and. Loves the animals
