Every once in a while you find a business that truly takes pride in the products and services they offer. Tropiquarium is one such business. You can see it in aisle after aisle of sparkling aquariums stocked with healthy (often rare) aquatic life, a finely curated selection of supplies and employees who are knowledgable and attentive. I have to admit, I completely geek out every time I visit this place–asking all sorts of questions, taking forever to decide which new friends I want to bring home with me. In fact, I hate to leave. A typical check-out usually involves me running from the cash register to different parts of the store for “just one more thing”. I must be totally annoying to the other customers but hopefully my enthusiasm sends the right message to the staff–keep up the good work!

I’ve been in the hobby a long time and have had many different jobs in this hobby. But none like this store. I’ve learned so much over the years being an employee for Mr. Hersch for a long time and he is a real hobbyist who strives to keep the hobby going and hopes to educate people on the proper way to own and care for aquatic wildlife.
