My boyfriend found a kitten with a big goose egg on her head, barely old enough to be away from her family. He called WLVH to ask them what he should do and they advised him to bring her in. Even though they had already stopping taking patients for the day they took us anyway. Dr. Mitchem and Darra were so wonderful. They were both extremely kind, gentle, and informative when explaining to us her diagnosis and possible outcomes. We have decided to try our best to nurse our new fur baby, Anchovy, back to health and it wouldn\’t be possible without Dr. Mitchem and her wonderful staff. We are extremely grateful for everything they\’ve done.

When I moved to NC from Maine a couple years ago, I was concerned about finding a new vet for my furry family members. It was stressful to leave 14 years of trust and familiarity behind and hand my boys’ care over to a stranger. I am incredibly thankful that West Lincoln Vet was recommended to me!!
Dr. Mitchem and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate, and always striving to improve their services.
The high standard of care they hold themselves to is clearly evident every time I walk through their door. They are truly mindful when it comes to taking care of their patients (and the crazy humans accompanying them), and never rush through appointments.
I live 20 minutes away from WLVet. There are at least 3 vets considerably closer to my home- but I won’t go anywhere else as long as Dr. Mitchem and West Lincoln Vet exist.
