In our area they are known as the Little shelter with a big heart. They were established around 1955. They always helpe community with food for the needy’s animals, they went No Kill in 1999. It iws like a family, you adopt, you are family too.

I adopted my first animal in 1992 when I moved to Deland. I have over the years always gone back to West Volusia Humane Society when I was ready to adopt again. The animals are always clean, happy and healthy. I recommend looking at the No Kill shelter before looking anywhere else. I became a volunteer with the shelter and have a great love for the people that work so hard for the animals!
